A Blog Party

You know how it is . . . we begin with reading one another's blogs. Then we progress to swaps, personal emails, a gift or two, we visit one another's Etsy shops . . .
Eventually, bloggers . . . we are kind of a friendly bunch, would like to meet up. Play together, chat, giggle, exchange ideas, inspire one another, share a meal . . . form real live friendships, with real flesh and blood people . . . Eventually you just have to meet. We just have to! If at all possible . . .
A group of local bloggers {local for me}, calling themselves Northern California Bloggers are throwing a blog party! I am only acquainted with Sandi, who owns The Green Pea Boutique in Escalon, California. Sandi is a lot of fun, and has a really great shop, located in the old Post Office building in town. If you could make a dot in the middle of California, it would just about be directly on Escalon. It is a small, super charming little place, the picture of small town America.
It appears that they've scheduled the party to coincide with other possible entertainment events. The nearest is in Riverbank, just a few miles down the road {the annual Riverbank Cheese and Wine Exposition} and The Sacramento Antique Fair. Sacramento is, by my guess, about 50 miles.
I've copied the rest from Sandi's post, you should check! See if you think you would like to attend!

Some fellow bloggers and I are throwing a Blog Party!! Come join us!! We will be enjoying a fabulous lunch, hear from a guest speaker, and treat you to some giveaways! And get ready for a fun contest for name tags--- get creative and make up one that reflects your blog!
The party will be held at The Green Pea Boutique:Map of 1802 Main St, Escalon, CA 95320-1920

Natural Elements

I kind of have a thing for natural objects. I collect pretty-ish bits and pieces of nature on my walks. Wait! There's a quote in there somewhere . . . hold on for a sec while I go find it! . . . . do DO doo do, DOOP de dooo, do Do doo do DOOP de doodle do {hold music} . . .

"She was a noticer. . . for all the shelves are lined with shells, bird feathers, dried sea grasses, pebbles, eggshells. . . They're just bits that were lying on the ground, that anyone else would step over or on, but she saw they were beautiful and brought them home."
. . . The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society . . .

Christian and I found the largely intact bird egg . . . another walk at the river yielded the darker blue egg fragments {which were one somewhat larger piece, until I set a book on them},
sheesh . . . My Mother discovered that gorgeous blue feather blowing about her place! The perfect tiny wasp nest was posing a hazard in my backyard . . . I suppose you're getting the idea
. . .

But, the wonderful little feather drawing on fabric?! It's from Michelle Palmer. I love her art! You knew that, though! So far I'm only up to three pieces, but I just discovered her sort of recently . . . it takes time to amass a collection.
Michelle's Etsy Shop . . . Be warned! You've gotta be quick! It's gone almost as fast as she lists it! :)

Miss Mary Hayes Challenge

This is the result of a challenge over at Miss Mary's blog, Green Paper. She provided three images, with which we could do anything we want, we just had to use a portion of each image. Easy 'nuf! I printed them out and walked all around the house holding them up to potential recipients {canvases, paper mache' boxes, paper cones, bottles . . .} looking for good proportion, and for a project that I would like to keep. I guess you know by now that I settled on a journal. I kind of like it!

The images were; the woman, the envelope, and you can only see a bit of a floral cigarette ad inside that slide holder. While the envelope is mostly hidden behind the photograph, both are open at the top for tucking that luggage tag in. {See it? Poking out the side of the book? It's decorated, too, but it didn't apply to the challenge, so alas, I left it tucked away, under appreciated for the photo} . . .

You should stop by Mary's blog to see what everybody else has come up with! While you're at it, you can download the images for your own use . . . It's a win/win!

Have you SEEN this?!

I already liked everything about 7 Gypsies, and then, somehow, they got inside my head and made this video of my world {. . . the way my mind works}!!! How did they DO that!?

Oh, my Goodness! I apologize!

Busy as a bee! . . .

I apologize to my few, but beloved followers! I have been doing a little site maintenance, and it occurs to me, that every blog that I've edited has come up as newly published! What a nuisance! My labels are becoming kind of unruly . . . that's what I was attempting to tidy up . . . I'll fiddle with them more another day . . . {apology extended for that, too!} The upside is, that I have grouped How~Tos and Recipes under those two headings . . . It's pitiful, but it's a beginning . . .

And while I'm at this informational sort of stage . . . One of my recent weddings is featured on the photographer's website . . . Still Memories. If you click on Galleries, the first photo that comes up is the bride . . . she's just lovely . . . Thank you, Susi! {The bride's Mom, who alerted me, via Facebook.}
