There's a New Blog on the Block

USA ~ Sweet Country Gal
I have a friend who is new to the blogging waters, but feels ready to jump in. I am no geek, but I helped her set up her page. Do you ever read Rose is Rose on the comics page? She's a mousie little housewife and Mommy, but when she does something especially brave she turns into her alter ego, Motorcycle Momma! That's how I'm feeling about setting up a blog {for someone else} from scratch. Watch out world, we've released Debbi the tattooed motorcycle Momma! {For the record, I look just like Rose, too.} So far, because we only did it last night, there is very little text, just photos of her amazing stained glass artwork. Wizzi will go back and add text in a day or two.

Because this is what a lot of the blogging world is all about, I know you will want to help her and her business, A1 Elegance in Glass in Oakdale, California. She is afterall an artist, a woman trying to make it, and an entrepreneur. We love to get behind one of our own! You all know that the current economic climate is not particularly hospitable to entrepreneurs. Please give her a visit, and comment, or link if you like. {Because links help the googlebot find her} By all means, stop by and say Hi! to Wizzi. All of you bloggers have been there, you know how it will please her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Fall Color in Princeton

Where we live in California everybody that I know waxes poetic about the beautiful Fall colors on the East Coast. We all want to see them in that great someday. I want to tell you that it is indeed, everything that we have heard it is, and more.

These photographs {the first seven} were taken in and around our son and daughter-in-law's yard and apartment parking lot.

Aren't they amazing?

The Statue of Liberty

Guess where we've been today.

Yep. I admit it. That's me. No silly, not the one with the moustache, the other one, on the left.

The Newlyweds, looking kinda lovey, dovey.
Everybody has seen pictures of the front of Lady Liberty . . . I'm here to show you what her backside looks like.
. . . and of course, her coiffure . . .
. . . and as another public service . . . who else will show you the detail of the torch? . . . and, And, AND . . . I have a piece of Lady Liberty trivial information for you. The copper that makes up our lady is 3/32" thick. There you have it. Today's bit o' trivia. You are most welcome.

{This is a coin that I purchased at the gift shop on Liberty Island. It represents the thickness of the copper.}

Princeton University

This picture is a classroom building at Princeton Seminary. I don't have time to write tonight after encountering an hour of hotel internet issues, so I'll just show you today's sights. The rest of the photos were taken across the street, at Princeton University. ~Much Love!

Princeton

. . . so you step out of the lecture hall, and pass through this doorway to leave the building . . . This must be one of those moments when you realize that we're not in Oakdale anymore, Toto.

That boy knows the way to his bibliophile Mom's heart. Take her deep into the aisles of the world's second largest theological library. {Second to the Vatican. Pretty good company, don't you think?}
This is such an amazingly beautiful town.

The grounds surrounding this historical home/museum, The Thomas Clark House were the site of an important Revolutionary War Battle. The Battle of Princeton. This house served as a field hospital, to both sides. We are near to the very place that George Washington crossed the Delaware . . . He led his men in the battle on these grounds.

The edge of the battle ground.

Back at the Seminary . . . a window in the chapel . . .

. . . and one in a lecture hall. I hope you're enjoying our trip. We certainly are! I'll be in touch!
